BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To

President

(Brian Cirrisi)

  • Schedule and preside at Board Meetings and Annual Coaches Meeting
  • Attend Macintosh League and other league meetings as a representative of GDYBL
  • Appoint directors and volunteers
  • Approve league purchases subject to bylaw requirements

Vice President

(Vacant)

  • Fill in for President as needed
  • Organize player and coaching development initiatives
  • Promote league through print and online media

Treasurer

(Eric Pauly)

  • Attend Board Meetings and report on state of league finances
  • Pay league invoices
  • Make deposits and withdrawals of league funds
  • Distribute umpire money to coaches
  • Maintains league financial records, including bank statements, invoices and receipts

T-Ball Coordinator

(Ashley Ivinjack)

  • Build Spring teams and assign rosters
  • Assign coaches for teams
  • Provide guidance and support to coaches
  • Address parent questions and concerns
  • Coordinate game and practice schedules to avoid conflicts

Minors Coordinator

  • Organize spring player evaluations
  • Supervise spring minors draft to ensure team balance
  • Assign coaches for teams
  • Provide guidance and support for coaches

  • Coordinate game and practice schedules to avoid conflicts
  • Build teams and assigns coaches for summer tournament play and fall league

Majors Coordinator

  • Organize spring player evaluations
  • Supervise spring minors draft to ensure team balance
  • Assign coaches for teams
  • Provide guidance and support for coaches
  • Address parent questions and concerns
  • Coordinate game and practice schedules to avoid conflicts
  • Build teams and assign coaches for summer tournament play and fall league

Babe Ruth Coordinator

  • Attend Minuteman League Meetings as representative of GDYBL
  • Assign coaches for teams
  • Organize and oversee player draft to ensure team balance
  • Provide guidance and support to coaches
  • Address parent questions and concerns
  • Coordinate game and practice schedules to avoid conflicts

 

 

NON-BOARD VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

 

Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To

Registrar

(Sean Ali)

  • Open and close registrations on league website
  • Arrange for hanging of banner announcing spring registration over Main Street
  • Distribute paper/electronic registration fliers to schools
  • Email registration reminders to parents / players
  • Respond to inquiries regarding registration policy
  • Monitor payment of registration fees and follow up as needed
  • Forward division specific list of registered players to coordinators

Fundraising Coordinator

(Rebekah War & Nick Kiernan)

 

  • Determine sponsorship packages and pricing with input from Board of Directors
  • Maintain list of names and contact information of prior sponsors
  • Solicit local business for sponsorships
  • Submit donation proposal if required by sponsor
  • Coordinate printing of field banners with sponsor logos
  • Coordinate with uniform vendor for placement of sponsor logos on uniforms
  • Forward sponsor payments to Treasurer
  • Arrange for hanging and removal of sponsor banners

Umpire Coordinator

(Outsourced for 2023)

  • Maintain contact list for eligible umpires
  • Schedule umpires for all home regular season and playoff games, including makeups
  • Forward home game schedule with assigned umpires to coaches

Field Manager

(Nick Kiernan)

  • Ensure field sheds are stocked with maintenance tools and materials
  • Coordinate grooming of fields with landscape company
  • Arrange for emptying of field and snack shack trash barrels into dumpster
  • Point of contact with Parks Department
  • Turn Cow Pond 4 lights on and off for games
  • Report to president on any needed maintenance or repairs with respect to fields or sheds
  • Report to president on needed materials, such as chalk and field conditioner
  • Coordinate volunteer field clean-up days
  • Ensure coaches are properly grooming fields after each use
  • Maintain keys / lock combinations for storage sheds

Equipment Coordinator

(Ben Cook)

  • Take preseason inventory of team equipment bags
  • Advise president on any needed equipment
  • Organize and distribute team bags at spring coaches meeting
  • Collect team bags at end of season and return to Cow Pond 2 storage shed
  • Maintain lost and found

Uniform Coordinator
(Rebekah Ware & Cameron Creek)

 
  • Order uniforms (shirts and hats) from vendor for spring, summer and fall seasons
  • Review and approve proofs from uniform vendor
  • Receive and distribute uniforms to coaches
  • Maintain inventory of unused shirts and hats in Cow Pond 2 shed

Snack Shack Coordinator
(Cathy Pauly)

  • Purchase food and drinks and stock shacks as needed
  • Determines and posts price lists
  • Maintain cash boxes with adequate change for shacks
  • Clean and close snack shacks at end of year
  • Maintain keys / lock codes for shacks
  • Ensure CP2 and/or CP4 snack shacks are staffed by parents for all home games.
