SPRING BABE RUTH
Players 13, 14 and 15 years of age, with birthdates between 5/1/94 and 4/30/97. There are 3 options for players in this age group.
1. New Recreation “Town Ball” league- We have joined with the Westford Babe Ruth League for this program. This league is open to all players 13-15 years old who wish to play baseball in a recreation type setting. The Westford Baseball League is a top tier league and our players will benefit greatly by playing in this league. Town Ball League games are played during the week (Mon-Fri). All games played in Westford and Groton. Players in this league can also joint and play in the travel Team League.
2. New Travel Team League- We have joined the Babe Ruth Minuteman League. This league is open to 13-15 year old players. The league comprises over 36 teams across 4 different divisions. This is a competitive baseball league which will require players to tryout. For comparison, the league is similar to AAU baseball. Players will travel to surrounding towns including Concord, Carlisle, Maynard, Stow, Sudbury, Lincoln, Wayland, Westford, Littleton, Bolton and Weston. Groton plans on fielding 1 or 2 "travel teams" to compete in this league. All games are held on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday), thus, anyone playing Middle school baseball will not have a conflict. Players in this league can also join and play in the recreation league with Westford.
3. New 13 year Old Travel League- This league is exclusively for 13 year old players. It is similar to the Minuteman league in that it is competitive and will be played against similar towns. CAL RIPKEN MAJORS
Players 10, 11 and 12 years of age, with birthdates between 5/1/97 and 4/30/00. Level of play is highly competitive. Travel program includes towns of Ayer, Dunstable, Littleton, and Shirley. Full commitment to practice and game schedules expected. Available slots are limited and filled by coaches' selection during the evaluation process. Evaluations are held prior to the season, and will be announced.
12-year old players will not be automatically placed on a major league roster. Any player not selected are placed on a Cal Ripken Minors team. For more info select 12 year old play.

CAL RIPKEN MINORS
Players 10, 11 and 12 years of age, with birthdates between 5/1/97 and 4/30/00. Travel team / Competitive play. Players need 1 to 2 years experience at Division 1 level. Any player not selected for Cal Ripken Majors, based on evaluations, is placed on a Division 1 or Cal Ripken Minors team. Evaluations are held prior to the season, and will be announced. DIVISION 1
Players 9 and 10 years of age, with birthdates between 5/1/99 and 4/30/01. In-town program. Competitive play introduced. Players need to be able to protect themselves at bat and in the field. Players play pitcher and catcher positions. If unsure where to place your 10-year-old, click here.

COACH PITCH
Players 7 and 8 years of age, with birthdates between 5/1/01 and 4/30/03. In-town program. The Coach Pitch program is designed to be non-competitive, and players are introduced to safe/out baseball concepts. Players learn all the infield and outfield positions. Coaches may play pitching and catching positions. Pitching will be introduced. For rules of play for Coach Pitch, click here. T-BALL
Players 5 and 6 years of age, with birthdates between 5/1/03 and 4/30/05. In-town program. The T-Ball program is designed to be non-competitive and fun. Score is not kept, and all games end in a tie. Baseball basics and terminology introduced. For example, the players will learn the base paths, some infield/outfield positions, infielders throw to first, and outfielders throw to second.
